Uncertain Scientific Knowledge and European Illegal Wildlife Trade Short Film

Dr George Iordachescu explains the obstacles and challenges faced by uncertain scientific knowledge. It is often the case that green-collar crimes are enabled by missing information or incomplete data about the ecology and conservation status of wildlife. Scientific uncertainty hinders the uniform and effective enforcement of environmental regulations. In addition, uncertain knowledge resulting from inaccurate reporting of species status can negatively impact international cooperation in implementing wildlife legislation and the prosecution of wildlife crimes.
