Rosaleen Duffy is working with Dr Eva Haifa Giraud, Prof Robert McKay and Prof Alasdair Cochrane at Sheffield University on a new Wellcome Trust funded project about ‘multispecies mutualisms’. The project aims to understand the representations and practices of mutualisms in human-animal relations – especially the claims around how such interactions can result in better mental, physical and material health for all. The project will explore bird conservation, hypoallergenic dogs, equine therapy and ethical dairy. The project is funded by a £1.6 million Wellcome Discovery award, 2025-2030.

The project is currently advertising 4 post doc positions to start at Sheffield University in September 2026 and the roles will be for three years. The closing date is 12 April 2026.

The team has recorded a short introductory video about the project and the roles
