On 24 March the Beastly Business team attended a workshop at the University of Maastricht with the Trafficking Transformations Trafficking Transformations – Objects as Agents in Criminal Networks and Moving Animals Moving Animals | A History of Science, Media and Policy in the 20th Century research teams. We presented overviews of our research and discussed the intersections and overlaps between our projects. We also discussed potential future collaborations. ,
It was a very interesting day. We learned about the movement of animals across Europe for zoo transfer, the contested illegalities of some objects, the global trade in fossils, and reptile trade shows and lots more. We are grateful to our very gracious hosts Prof Raf de Bont (Moving Animals) and Dr Donna Yates, and we look forward to collaborating in the future.
